LX800 AMD Geode 500mhz CPU w/ CS5536 Companion Chip
The AMD Geode LX800 is a low power, embedded x86-based System-on-Chip (SoC) complete with a Floating Point Unit (FPU). The LX800 is completely fan-less, and does not require a heatsink.
256mb Onboard Ram
256mb of DDR400 ram is soldered onto the PCB.
4x Digium®-Style FXO/FXS Headers
Telephony functionality is delivered by four onboard headers that can accept FXO or FXS modules:
4x Software-Controllable LED's
Since most installations will be standalone without a keyboard or monitor connected, it is important to provide a visual cue of the booting process. With the available software-controllable LED's, it is now possible to “bind” software scripts and/or processes to an LED, alerting the end user of an issue. For example:
First LED – Ethernet comes up and obtains an IP address successfully
Second LED – Apache is successfully started
Third LED – MySQL is successfully started
Fourth LED – Asterisk is successfully started
It is very easy for the end-user to inform the technical support representative the LED that is not lit, which allows the representative to pinpoint the problem with the CPE, and proceed with further troubleshooting steps.2x SATA Ports
SATA is provided by two Prolific USB-to-SATA chipsets which are fully bootable, and supported under Linux and Windows.
1x Mini-PCI Slot
The Mini-PCI slot supports most Mini-PCI devices, including high powered wireless cards. Both the Mini-PCI and PCI slot may be used at the same time.
1x 32-Bit PCI-Slot
The PCI slot is 3.3v, 32-bit and also supports 64-bit PCI cards. Both the Mini-PCI and PCI slot may be used at the same time.
2x VIA VT6105m 10/100 Ethernet Ports (3x available in OEM quantity)
The SBC comes standard with 2x Ethernet ports, however 3x ports may be ordered in OEM quantity. The VT6105m supports full Auto-MDIX operation, meaning it will function with either straight-through or crossover Ethernet cabling, eliminating guesswork. Additionally, it supports 802.1q VLAN's and TCP/IP checksum offloading.
4x USB Ports (2x External and 2x Internal via Header)
There are 2x USB ports available externally, as well as a 2x port header internally near the 4-Pin Molex power plug.
2x Serial Ports (1x External DB9 and 1x Internal via Header)
1x external DB9 serial port is available between the Ethernet ports and telephony ports. There is also 1x 9-pin header directly behind it to support an additional serial port.
1x VGA Port (Internal Header)
1x 15-pin VGA header directly behind the external DB9 serial port.
1x 4-Pin Molex Power Port for Additional PCI Telephony Cards or Hard Drives
1x 4-Pin Molex Power Port is available for devices that may require power (Additional telephony card, hard drives, etc.)
1x 44-Pin IDE Port
1x 44-Pin IDE Port for Disk-On-Module's (DOM's) or IDE 2.5” HDD's.
1x CompactFlash Port
1x CompactFlash Type I/II supporting both solid-state CompactFlash and MicroDrive form factors.
1x Serial/Console Switch
The serial/console switch is a very unique solution to control the external DB9 serial port. Flipping the switch left or right adjusts whether the DB9 port will act as a standard serial port or a console port. For example, many applications require a serial port to control a device (serial modem, industrial controls, voicemail systems, etc). However, once the DB9 port is setup as a serial port (no console), there is no way to revert it to console without logging into the system with a monitor/keyboard or via the network and changing the parameters. With the onboard serial/console switch, it is a simple matter of powering down the system, flipping the switch, and powering the system on. This will revert the DB9 back to console mode, allowing the user to control the system once again.
